Varicose veins rarely stay cosmetic. Left untreated, faulty veins put increasing pressure on the skin and tissue below. If more than one of these sounds familiar, it’s worth a proper vein assessment.
Dr. Monish’s approach begins with the least invasive option that will actually work when it’s truly the safer or more effective route.
A venous Doppler scan shows exactly which veins are refluxing and how severely. Dr. Monish recommends a technique, or combination, based on that map — not a one-size-fits-all protocol.

A fine laser fibre is guided into the faulty vein under ultrasound. Heat energy seals the vein shut, and blood is naturally rerouted through healthy veins nearby.

Similar principle to laser ablation, using controlled radiofrequency energy. Often preferred for larger trunk veins, done in under an hour as a day-care procedure.

A minimally invasive treatment that uses medical adhesive to seal the problematic vein. No heat is required, and it may allow faster recovery with minimal discomfort for selected patients.

A sclerosant solution is injected into smaller, residual, or branch veins — commonly used alongside ablation to treat visible surface veins.
Dr. Monish examines your legs and performs an ultrasound Doppler scan to map which veins are refluxing and how far the disease has progressed.
He walks you through the options in plain language what each involves, expected recovery, and cost and recommends the least invasive route that will genuinely work.
Most procedures take 30–60 minutes under local anaesthesia. You're awake, comfortable, and able to see the ultrasound-guided process yourself if you'd like to.
You walk out a few hours later with compression stockings on. A follow-up scan confirms the treated vein has closed and healed as expected.
From first visit to walking out the same day.

This is V. Gayathri. I visited Manipal Hospital, Yelhanka, today. The building is very spacious and clean. I consulted the orthopedic, Dr. Sridhar Singh; he was very friendly and cooperative. I had to get two x-rays done, and the staff there were very good and courteous. The staff in the orthopedic wing was quite helpful and compassionate; I was deeply touched. Overall, the hospital visit was very good. Service at the cafeteria on the ground floor was nice, but it is too small for a hospital of that size. Though there is one on the 5th floor, the patients on the ground floor need a bigger cafeteria. Maybe another cafeteria can be opened on the ground floor. Thanks.
If varicose veins are affecting your comfort, mobility or confidence, get your condition properly evaluated.

Modern image-guided procedures like laser and radiofrequency ablation are done under local anaesthesia. Most patients feel mild pressure rather than pain, and are back on their feet the same day.
Cost depends on the number of veins involved, the technique used, and whether one or both legs need treatment. Dr. Monish gives an exact estimate only after your consultation and Doppler scan — be cautious of any clinic quoting a price without one.
No. Almost all varicose vein procedures are performed as day-care treatments — you’re discharged the same evening.
Most patients resume desk-based work within 1–2 days and normal activity within a week, wearing compression stockings as advised.
Ablation techniques close the faulty vein permanently. New veins can occasionally develop over the years, which is why a follow-up scan and periodic review are recommended.
Many insurers do cover varicose vein procedures when there’s a documented medical indication, not just cosmetic concern. The clinic team can help you check your specific policy.
